large-scale exploitation in coal and other mineral resource has severely damaged the land, and causecomplex land and environmental problems.Mining land reclamation is confronted with more challenges inthe technical and economic aspects.Liudaowan coal mining has a long exploitation history and has multiple land problems even after thecoal mine was shut down. The renovation work on mining area along with gradual mine closure conductedin the early years did not score significant achievements, because of lacking in systematicness, thestandards and the specialization. Liudaowan coal mining area lies in the central urban area of Urumqi. Withthe development of the city, the remaining environmental issues caused by coal mining exploitation aregetting more and more severe. So it is urgent and significant to conduct land reclamation in Liudaowanarea. In this paper, by reading and consulting large amounts of information and data, along with fieldresearch, the writer made a study on the natural environment, geological structure, hydrogeologicalcondition, climate condition, Coal occurrence characteristics, coal mining method of Urumqi andLiudaowan area, as well as these factors’influence on earth surface deformation. And the thesis combinedqualitativeand quantitative analysis, according to local socioeconomic status andtheLand-useplanning,using the AHP hierarchy analytic model, to judge the direction of land reclamation. And it carry out the suitability evaluation using the limited comprehensive evaluation method. Then thethesis gives out advice on the choosing of the engineering and biological reclamation measures. Givingsuggestions and opinions on the land reclamation in Liudaowan area, the writer wish the research willprovide useful information for the land renovation work in similar mining area of XinJiang.
