After experienced the enlightening and commercialization phase, China's Internet industry entered Web2.0 stage in 2005. SNS is the new iconic network service mode of Web2.0. As McLuhan says,"The media is the message". As a totally new media in this age, renren.com has brought its mass audidence not only a SNS, but also a relevant special interpersonal communication platform. The SNS is posing a greater and greater influence on the way and meaning of people's interpersonal communication.The interpersonal communication in renren.com has its own special qualities, which are a bit little different from the features the FTF or the CMIC has. This paper aims to explore what unique characteristics the interpersonal communication in Campus SNS exactly owns.This research was mainly based on a questionnaire survey among 1163 households. The author eventually recovered 182 effective questionnaires and analyzed the related data. In addition, the user group is so large that the author can not telll the exact view just by a few samples. The author also did some deep interviews through personal relationships. Finally, in order to make up for the deficiencies of the above methods, the author also adopted literature analysis and combined the existing statistical data with rational analysis, which involved in interpersonal communication and social networking service, and obtained a broader and deeper view of the theme.The author took adventage of the statistics got from the online questionnaire and came to a conclusion of the paper. That is, there are five features of the interpersonal communication in renren.com, such as the establishment of the trust mechanism, the small expansion of the scope of communication, the relevant single role the disseminator plays, the weak utilitarianism of interpersonal communication and the timely feedback and high-frequency interaction. Besides, the author obtained a much deeper knowledge of interpersonal communication in renren.com in several other aspects. First, the interpersonal communication comes back to the tribe age because of the relevant real communication between people. Second, the self-consciousness formates through the"looking-glass self"mechanism, which means individuals would adjust the concept of self through the relevant true feedback. Third, the Campus SNS scientifically designes the specific function and web site, which helps users efficiently manage the boundary between personal space and public space and make a transmission between them freely.
