This thesis is about how Social Network Services (SNS), where registered users use their real names to communicate with others impact the interpersonal relationship these days when the Internet has become one of main tools of interpersonal communication. In China, Renren.com, one kind of popular SNS, has millions of users, so it has research value to be selected to study the influence of SNS. Additionally, the majority of its users have bachelor degrees, which means it has a relatively particular group of research objects.On the basis of predecessors'research achievements, questionnaire survey data analyses and depth interview, it is found out that even though SNS, with users'real names registered, can affect interpersonal relationship adversely, their positive influences are much stronger. This kind of SNS, which enables people from all over the world get along with each other freely, conveniently and economically, has got rid of unreliable stigma. Furthermore, it eases the tension caused by interpersonal communication. To sum up, due to this kind of SNS, people are more willing to make friends. What is more, it influences users of different gender and different age groups differently.
