Research On The Retrieval Of Land Surface Parameters With Polarimetric Microwave Radiometer

Polarimetric Microwave Radiometer is a new type of passive microwave remote sensing instrument. It has been widely used since 1990s. Besides the traditional measurement of the extent of the power of microwave radiation, it also measures the 3rd and the 4th stokes parameter of the bright temperature. Accordingly, it can give us the important information of the phase. The development of Polarimetric Microwave Radiometer brings us the possibility of the full use of frequency, phase, amplitude and polarization.Land Surface Temperature provides the temperature that heat up the ground surface. It controls most of the physical, chemical and biologic process above the ground, and acts on the conversation of energy between the ground-atmosphere systems. Nevertheless, the pockety and limited weather station in the world can hardly meet the demand of the study of the law of the change of LST. Therefore getting LST by remote sensing has a signality in the simulation and validation of climate.Soil Moisture determines the transpiration of the land surface. It affects the emissivity of the soil, and further affects the LST. Both the traditional field test methods and the optional remote sensing have a few limitations on getting Soil Moisture. On the other hand, microwave remote sensing is a promising method of the Soil Moisture observation.This article we discussed the retrieval method of LST and Soil Moisture. Based on the microwave radiation transmit model and the retrieval model, we retrieved the LST and compared to the relative data. What's more, we analyzed the information given by the 3rd and the 4th stokes parameter of the bright temperature, and provided some new field of vision on the study of Land Surface with Polarimetric Microwave Radiometer.
