This paper is about the analysis of power systerm on traffic characteristics & the current status of communication, It points out the disavantages of the present power communication network, based on this, we put forward the resilient packet ring(RPR) as the mutli-service transmission platform to set up a gerneral power communication network. RPR is a kind of new data link layer protocol. It has the function of traffic classification. It also can guarantee of the bandwidth and delay time, automatically find the topology of network, and switch the traffic from one ring to another no more than 50ms. RPR is a kind of packet switching network ,can classify the bearing business into 3 types——class A, class B and class C.Each one can acquire different quality of service(QoS).Most businesses in the power systerm require high real-time quality, safety and reliability. Those businesses commonly use TDM interface, and thansform through the circuit switching network. Class A also can meet the QoS of these businesses, but it can not directly support this kind of circuit business. If you wanna use the RPR in this systerm, it is necessary to make the RPR have the function of unvarnished transmission. In order to reach this, this article mainly study the circuit emulation technique on the TDM business.The article firstly gave an introduction of basic content of the RPR &some programme of the TDM circuit emulation techniques, then, designed the function model of the circuit emulation technique on the basis of RPR .at last ,analysised the process of the circuit emulation .Nowsdays,those kinds of study is very little. It is completed by referring to the relavate techniques. The relevant achievements have certain theoretical value and practical signifiance. Due to the high request on bandwidth, delay and jitter of the TDM business,we emphasized the guarantee mechanism of RPR,designed the data transmission pathway of the RPR. This part made some of improvement on the RPR agreement ,in order to apply it to the simple topology of network which we discussed in the article .Lastly ,through the network simulation and performance analysis using NS-2, we received the relative results, which prove that the RPR's data transmission mechanism can reach the demand of TDM service,In addition,it also introduced the theory of RPR's fairness module, improved the method of calculating a fair rate. The new method can improve the performence of fairness algorithm efficiently.
