With the fast development of information technology, many hospital have established their own HIS. Hospital database becomes larger and larger , and the data becomes more and more. The managers of hospital concern on the question that how we can get useful information or related knowledge from enormous data in order to make the decision quickly and effectively. So they can improve the quality of hospital services and the hospital can keep advanced in drastically competitions.Data warehouse, OLAP and data mining are one of the hot pots for computer science. Many industries applied these new technologies to their information system, and gained remarkable benefits. But data warehouse and data mining technology are still poorly in the present HIS, and these value is also proved in HIS. The composition of the HIS and data warehouse and data mining can make the HIS to be more effective. Furthermore, it makes a broader prospect for the developing if data mining's application.The thesis focuses on the application of data warehouse and data mining in HIS. Based on the construction of out-patient information warehouse and fees and charges warehouse, try to analysis the related data . The first chapter gives a brief introduction of the HIS concept and the research background of the thesis. The second chapter introduces the fundamental concept of data warehouse and data mining. The third chapter introduces the HIS of the People's Hospital of Jiangyin. Lastly, the thesis introduces the entire course about how the warehouse with the subject of out-patient information and hospital fees was established and used, including data preparing, dimension and granularity designing, multi-dimension model establishing and etc. Based on the data warehouse, the thesis actualizes the data mining models in Microsoft Analysis Service with clustering and decision tree, then analysis the results.
