Universal Serial Bus is one of the most popular peripheral buses .It has been widely used in the peripheral of computer and the application - embeded systems, such as the portable equipments, communication and industry control, and so on. As the newest progress of the USB, USB-OTG (USB ON-THE-GO) technology is the supplement of USB2.0 protocol, and allows two peripheral equipments connecting with each other straightly to implement the point to point communication without the host. So, the Bus Interface that has the Dual-Roll function need to be designed. This thesis studies the USB2.0 protocol and OTG criterion, and analyzes the bottom structure of communication, also expatiates on two important protocols: Session Request Protocol (SRP) and Host Negotiation Protocol (HNP). Based on the research above, this thesis presents the hardware design of USB-OTG Dual-Role Device interface, focusing on the protocol transact module and endpoint controller module. In the protocol transact module, the major job is to design the son module such as the timing resume, event inspecting, NRZI coding/encoding, bit stuff and packet coding/encoding from the top to down. In the endpoint controller module, endpoint0 and endpointl-15 controller module , Host Transaction Scheduler are performed. Then, this thesis constructs the RTL test platform of USB-OTG interface and presents the way of its simulation. As the same time, this thesis also researches on the logic synthesis of USB-OTG interface based on the UMC0.18 library and synthesis tool (DC), the experiment results imply that this USB-OTG interface corresponds entirely with the requirement of the design.
