The research of the Visual Realization of Grinding and Cooling Lubrication Process based on OpenGL is the project which is imbursed by exoteric sustentation fund in significant figure manufacture laboratory in Hubei province. This paper develops with the design, development and realization of the "virtual scene simulation platform of Grinding and Lubrication Process", and it's main research work and results are as follows:1. The virtual simulation platform of Grinding and Lubrication Process is an software development environment based on MFC and OpenGL, it's main function includes the management and maintenance of the virtual environment, the lifelike displaying of the virtual environment, provides the management of the realized object, such as three-dimensional model body of grinder and particle system's demonstration, and object alternant control.2. The multi-viewpoint, the mufti-perspectives and the omni-directional observation method have been designed and realized, which might optionally control the viewpoint to observe partial or the overall scene as necessary, providing the convenient way for the user to carry on macroscopic and the microscopic observation of the simulation process.3. The simulation effect of cooling lubricant based on particle system has been designed, unifying the behavior model and geometrical model of particle system. This paper analyzed the randomness of particle system theoretically, designed the particle system on time with parameter.4. In order to demonstrate virtual scene and model more realistically, the technology and theory of the texture in OpenGL has been adopted.Grinding is a complicated process, great deal of quantity of heat conduct into workpiece and result in brush-fire high temperature, during the grinding, it influence the external quality and use capability of the workpiece greatly, that result in the dimension and figure precision error of the workpiece, and life of the grinding wheel also. In order to prevent the temperature from increasing and settle hot damnification, the normal way is to supply the cooling liquid for the region of grinding. But, traditional research must operate practically, which is not only dangerous but also wasting resources. Along with the development and the consummation of software function, the virtual simulation platform based on OpenGL help to get over the disadvantages of the traditional research and simulate grinding actually, and shortens the time of decision-making , avoid wasting of financing and manpower. And it is provided with direction significance for its research of the liquid characteristic in grinding and cutting process. From long run, it redound to advance the development of mechanism manufacture, quicken the development and research of new product, realize the development of exceeding close grinding and cutting, rubbing, polishing and exceeding close mulriple grinding and cutting, exceeding high speed grinding and cutting, high efficiency deep grinding, automatization of grinding and cutting, intelligentize and virtual simulation. And it will pour the new vigor into the developing new field of VR grinding in figure manufacture.
