| With the development of China's mass sport cause, related reports also have been attached with greater importance. Objective, faithful and in-depth report is conducive for arousing the society's interest in mass sport and increase people's sports awareness.China sports Daily---the official newspaper of general administration of sport of China is duty-bound to report on mass sport. The characteristics of its report, the attention it paid to mass sport and how to optimize mass sport report are issues to be discussed in this paper.This thesis falls into 4 parts. The first part is about some related background knowledge, including mass sport, sports news and the influence of mass media over mass sport. The second part is data analysis. Sampling 246 issues of China sports from 2001 to 2005, the quantity, genre, content, pertinent area and title of its mass sport report in the news sector are counted, analyzed and studied. The purpose is to investigate the characteristics of sports report and whether mass sport is of enough importance in China sports'coverage. The third part is to reflect China Sports Daily's mass sport coverage from a journalistic perspective and it's characteristics of reporting. The forth part is about how to better China sports Daily'mass sport report and some suggestions. |
