With the development of the wireless network communication technology and mobile robot's remote control theory, the mobile robot's remote control technology based on wireless communication becomes a popular research and application field. And this technology has great use value in industry,agriculture and service industry and has widespread use and demand at home and abroad. According to experimental conditions, it builds up WLAN based on improving the real-time characteristic of remote control and designs the mobile robot's remote wireless control system based on WLAN in the thesis.Firstly, it builds up the basic model of remote control and analyzes the correlative performance factors and modes of remote control. At the same time it studies the correlative theory of the wireless network communication and all kinds of wireless network technologies and summarizes the basic attributes of WLAN and technology requests of wireless network control. On the basic of anslytical results, it furtherly studied the working model and software implement methods of the wireless network communication, and it studies mainly Socket programming of network communication. According to the above-mentioned analyses and the specific experimental conditions, it establishs the concrete scheme of the mobile robot's remote control system adapting to the task in this thesis.Secondly, based on the concrete scheme, it sets up a suit of remote wireless control system using the mobile robot as the controlled object and designs the hardware structure and software structure of the system. At the same time it builds up WLAN between mobile robot regarded as server and upper computer regarded as client. Based on the WLAN, it studies compiling code and software integration of some software modules in the remote control system, such as data-sending,data-receiving,voice transmission,image transmission,manual control etc. Lastly, in order to verify the above-mentioned remote control system's feasibility, it does an experiment on remote controlling AGV carrying workpieces. During the course of AGV carrying workpieces from NC machining workshop to logistics workshop being 100 meter away from NC machining workshop, depending on WLAN constructed between AGV and client lying in automated logistics workshop, client remotely monitors AGV by transmitting image wirelessly and controls AGV by transmitting data or voice instructions wirelessly. The experimental result shows the mobile robot's wireless remote control system designed in this thesis reaches the design requests basically and can implement the real-time characteristic,stability and reliability of remote control system to some extent; the application program interfaces of client and server are friendly and operated easily; it can be regarded as the rudiment of the robot's remote wireless control system and as platform for system extension and software development in future.
