Life Weekly was inaugurated on October 11, 1925 in Shanghai. It was an official publication of China Vocational Education Agency which was created by Huang Yanpei. Initially it was edited by Wang Zhixin, from October 24, 1926, volume 2 of Life Weekly, he was replaced by Zou Taofen editor. Zou Taofen is an outstanding press and publishing workers, political commentator and editor of modern China. After his transfer, he was keen to strengthen ties with readers and dedicated service to readers, then Life Weekly was gradually earned the readers'welcome and love. As society changes, and the development of Zou Taofen's thinking , the contents of Life Weekly have also make grate progress. After "September 18 Incident", an unprecedented national crisis aggravated Zou Taofen use of Life Weekly actively promoting the anti-Japanese national salvation. Life Weekly has become famous anti-Japanese and national salvation publication, its'sales increased annually to 155,000 copies ultimately and set a publisher of record that time in China. As clear political orientation and strong reaction of Life Weekly in the community that caused the hatred of the Kuomintang(the Nationalist Party) reactionaries. At last ,Life Weekly was seizured by the reactionary Kuomintang government on december 16, 1933.Life weekly, which is surviving in unstable society in 1920s and 1930s, is to be stuied in the paper accoding to the analysis of Zou taofen's editorial thoughts.The characteristic of Life Weekly which presented by Zou taofen, is focused on by the paper, including three points: firstly, wise located columns, dropping plates. Secondly, selection emphasis on "fun" and "value". Thirdly, style advocated "clearly invigorating", justic words and scheduling unique illustrations. In the end, the paper come to conclusion that the characteristic of Life weekly is helpful to the nowdays' magazine management. And, the two points lessons are as follows, one is characteristic is a lifeline of the survival of magazines, the other is that we should offer excellent magazine content to readers, because quality is the the fundermental guaidance of magazines' success.
