Research On Regional Healthcare Information System Based On XDS Profile And EbXML

The development of medical informatics has experienced the process from the Hospital Information Management System to Clinical Information System then now the Regional Healthcare Information System. The main task of Regional Healthcare Information System is to construct the transmission and sharing of medical information based on a single infrastructure and integrate disparate systems together. How to transfer electronic medical record which is core information in medical information system effectively among disparate systems has been the key consideration in Regional Healthcare Information System research.According the investigation and analysis of ebXML standards and XDS in IHE profiles, this paper brings forward the idea that adopting the XDS profile in IHE to the Regional Healthcare Information System in order to solve the problem of sharing EMR documents among healthcare institutions, and use the Registry of ebXML specification as the implementation of the idea above, then, a blue print that achieving the sharing of EMR document through setting the profile for EMR documents in the Regional Data Exchanging Center of Regional Healthcare Information System is provide in this paper.Contents researched in this paper: 1. Bring forward the idea that using XDS profile as the standard profile for sharing EMR documents among disparate systems in Regional Healthcare Information System, then utilize ebXML Registry to realize the solution. 2. Implement the ebXML information models mapping to the data models and relationships of models in XDS profile, and conclude the rules of this mapping. 3. Improve the implementation by the way of appending new ebXML Classification Scheme to make this system not only realize the sharing of EMR documents, but also support the collection and analyzing of the public healthcare data contained in EMR documents.
