Research on key technology in virtual scene system is an innovation project of Shaanxi Province science and technology government department. This research aimed at the project application, designed and developed a virtual scene system platform which has higher practical value. This paper develops with the process on design, development and realization of the "virtual scene system platform ", and it's main research work and results are as follows:1. The virtual scene system platform is a software development environment based on MFC and OpenGL, its main function includes constructing, browsing, storage, and outputting pictures and videos of the virtural scene. It provides the management and maintenance of the virtual scene, particle system, sound management, and other functions.2. Designed and realized four different viewpoints: manual, follow, spin, keyboard &roket. Each viewpoint can be setted up easyly and alternately, and their unity work makes consumer observing the simulating process. and virtual scene omni-directionally easyer.3. Analyzed and studied diamond-square fractal algorithm and the methods of constructing terrain by reading the real DEM data, realized the visualization of the simulating and real terrain, and carryed out the roaming and modifying of the terrain. The terrain model's displaying and dispatching is real-time and lifelike.4. Demonstrated the technology and theory of the texture mapping, established a reasonable method of texture mapping, and realized the management of texture in use. Utilized the technology to realize the texture mapping of the scene and object in the virtual scene.5. Detailedly analyzed the process of realizing particle system, realized the special effect based on particle system, unified the particle system behavior model and the geometry model, and made theoretical analysis on the randomness and parameterization design of the particle system.Along with the development and the consummation of software function, The virtual scene simulation platform maybe widely used in the urban planning, the room design, the industry simulation, the historical site recovers, bridge and road design, and...
