Cloth simulation, which is to simulate the dynamic cloth by various computer techniques, has been people's interested research subject recent years. It has been developed for almost twenty years, and has a good prospect of application. Simulation of the dynamic cloth is the important component of the computer animation and the dress CAD. And the basic methods are that creating the suitable cloth structural model, then using the mechanics theory to deduce it, and predicting the 3D effect of the cloth. In this paper, we first introduce the development and application of cloth simulation. We also present the key techniques in the cloth simulation. Then we introduce the background of this paper and point out the reasons and significance of our research by analyzing the shortcomings of the image-based presentation system for textile exhibition. Then we put forward the framework of cloth simulation and the application flow chart of the main part. And we also introduce the cloth's important parameters which can bring great effect to the cloth's conformation. In this system, we use the mass and spring model to simulate the cloth's conformation, and use Eular, mid-point and Runge-Kutta integration to simulate the movement of the cloth. In order to get relative real simulation effect, we use the interface of OpenGL to add texture and illumination to the cloth. Finally, we choose a relative easy and quick algorithm of collision detection, which is based on the AABB box and suitable to solve the collision between cloth and objects like bed, and let the cloth fall onto the simple objects naturally. In addition, we also put the cloth into the real scene, and adjust the illumination of the cloth according to that of the scene.
