Horizontal Driller Graphics Display System is developed for gianthorizontal driller. The underground alignment of drill rod could be seen inthe way of graphics for the engineers and technicians on the constructionsite to have a better understanding of the alignment of the drill rod so thatthey may have a better control over its direction. The software system hassolved the problems involved with manual drafting in directional drilling.The efficiency of the construction crew has been greatly improved alongwith better economic returns.This dissertation introduces the background information ofdirectional drilling graphics display system as well as the latest domesticand foreign research and development on the software, the significance ofmy developing directional drilling graphics software in addition to themajor work I have done on the project and major problems which havebeen solved. It analyzes the current situation of directional drillingsoftware in use and provides the solution. It also introduces the maincharacteristics of the directional drilling graphics display system and itsmain functions. Moreover, it illustrates two-dimension display techniqueas well as the ideas and approaches to fulfill the functions of the softwarewith the technique.
