Airborne graphics display system is a key component to realize the integration,digitization and intelligentization of airborne avionics. As one of the best corecomponents of airborne graphics display system, the performance of graphics enginewill determine the display quality and rendering speed of graphics. At present, thehigh-performance embedded graphics engine used in airplane in our country stilldepends on import from the developed countries. To change the situation of theairborne graphics display attaching itself to the developed countries, it is the mostsignifications that the airborne graphics engine and airborne graphics display systemare manufactured, which property right is possessed.The paper focuses on researching the2D graphics rendering pipeline in airbornegraphics display system. Firstly, the background and research status of airbornegraphics display system is analyzed and summarized. According to the trait of airbornegraphics display system: the particularity of application and the complexity of design,an airborne graphics rendering pipeline is designed with reference to the OpenGLgraphics rendering pipeline on the basis of the study on the architecture of graphicsengine and the graphics rendering pipeline. Then, some major line generationalgorithm, region filling algorithm, parametric curve generation algorithm andanti-aliased algorithm in the rendering pipeline are discussed in the paper and a2Dgraphics library MTI Graphics Library is designed and implemented, whichencapsulates the functions of the2D graphics rendering pipeline.Based on these researches, an experiment and testing system which runs onwindows operation system is designed. Several test samples are designed in the system,which aim to verify the function and test the performance of the rendering pipeline.The test results show that the airborne graphics rendering pipeline designed in thepaper has a rational structure, a stable performance and a complete function, moreover,the graphics generation quality is good and the graphics rendering efficiency is high.Thus a solid foundation has laid for the further study on airborne graphics displaysystem.
