This dissertation presents the design and investigation of an embedded Digital Video Recorder. The system is developed based on high performance embedded processor and DSP processor. The MPEG-4 technology, MP3 technology, embedded Linux, and stream media technology are employed in the system. This system could monitor 4-channel video input both locally and through the network. It possesses the advantages of small package, low power consuming, and high reliability.Chapter 1 comprehensively describles the aim of the research project and the recent research level of digital video recorder, embedded system and video compression technology.Chapter 2 introduces the software development environment and the programming techniques adopted in the system. It includes both compile environment and embedded linux.Chapter 3 presents the architecture of the software solution and briefly introduces the features of each software module.Chapter 4 presents the solution of software and introduces IPC between processes in detail.Chapter 5 explains the software test method. For futher, test solution and test cases targeted on this system are presented with the final test resultChapter 6 summarizes the research conclusion and investigates the further development of the system. |
