The Research And Application Of Miranda Plug-in Framework

Software reuse has been a problem for software engineers. From the Process-Oriented Programming to Object-Oriented Programming(OOP),and to nowadays Component-Oriented Programming(COM),all of them are designed to improve the software developing efficiency and the code reusability.Based on OOP,plug-in is designed and implemented to provide application interfaces for secondary development by application users,and as a result,it extends the software life cycle.For example,many famous softwares,such as Eclipse,Microsoft Office and Visual Studio,have been developed with plug-in technology.As the changing software requirements,software reusability and extendibility are now playing a more and more important role in software development.Based on this background,this paper will make a research on plug-in developing technology,and especially do a series of study onMiranda plug-in framework,give out a possible universal design and implementation solution of Miranda plug-in framework on Windows platform with WTL(Windows Template Library) and C++language.Through this paper,we could have a deeper understanding of plug-in technology which may bring great practical values for our software development.
