OPC(Ole for Process Control) is an industrial interface standard, established byMicrosoft and a lot of outstanding automation companies and software/hardwaremanufacturers, it provides an unitive software and hardware interface standard fordata accessing in industrial control field. This thesis developes a DLL(DynamicLinking Library)which encapsulates all the current interfaces of OPC data accessing.With the DLL, a common server which fits OPC interface standard can be put intoservice rapidly.Firstly this thesis gives an introduction about the technical principle ofCOM/DCOM, which is the core technology of OPC standard. Then it mainly introducesthe OPC standard, OPC data access specification and its application. At the same time,this thesis expresses some OPC standard advantages in the process control field. Theactualization of OPC development toolkit is emphatically described in the thesis. All theinterfaces of OPC data access specification, including server registration and drivercommunication module, are encapsulated in the toolkit. The toolkit is designed andprovided many functions for OPC server designer. By using the DLL, a designer canrapidly develop the OPC standard server and put attention into application logics. It isvery helpful to reducing the time of server development periods.Finally, based on the development kit, this thesis carries out an application oftesting server in order to testing the correctness of the toolkit functions. The thesisexpatiates the test process between OPC client application and quickly developed OPCservers. The results demonstrated that the server can well realize data communicationand seamless connection with clients. The software development toolkit of OPC serverin the paper provides convenient for industrial system designer and will be beneficial topromote OPC interface technology in my country.
