A large format scanner is characterized by large scale, high precision, vivid color and used in professional image field. Complex in functions and complicated in relations, a driver software suite has distinct difficulties in development.To solve the problem of traditional scanner software and implement a better one, an idea for designing and implementing a large format scanner driver using modularization technology is proposed. Firstly, a method is presented for dividing the software system into sub-functional modules using Date Flow Diagram and HIPO graph in terms of the requirements for the large format scanner. Secondly, internal information and processing techniques of key modules are introduced. Finally, this paper describes the design principle and implementation method of the communication module and the image acquisition module for the large format scanner. And based on property sheet, a friendly and convenient user interface is also designed. Through experiments, the feasibility and correctness of applying modularization principle to the development of the large format scanner driver are verified.
