Multi-CCD collection and image stitch technologies are used to scan large-format manuscript in AO format color scanner. New challenges have been brought out by the requirements of the technology standards, such as large-format, high-speed and precision etc, to the design of scanner driver and mechanical installation. This paper focuses on the design and implementation of the upper driver and online auxiliary adjusting system for AO format color scanner. This paper starts with the introduction of working principles of Multi-CCD scanning and functional requirements of upper scan driver control system. The design and implementation of upper scanner driver are discussed in detail on high speed USB2.0 interfaces, communication module of TWAIN standards and the interface of the scanner driver. Layered modular development methodology used to achieve the upper scan driver control systems; the scanner online auxiliary adjusting system is achieved for the mechanical installation and precision adjustment. The realization of the system meets the requirements and production equipment for adjusting needs. The design of high speed USB2.0 interfaces and communication module of TWAIN standards fulfills the requirement of high speed scanning input of large-format scanner. And the design of online auxiliary adjusting system ensures the requirement of the high precision for mapping scanner.
