Ad Hoc network is a kind of self-organized, self-managed centerless network, and it needs no other infrastructure to support, and was widely used in the military field, sensor networks, unexpected occasions, and business applications.However, the Ad Hoc network topology is dynamic, the node energy and the wireless link bandwidth is limited, these make conventional routing protocol difficult to adapt to the Ad Hoc network.This thesis describes the characteristics and application of the Ad Hoc network, studies its routing protocols and technology, analyses and compares different kinds of protocols feature. As well as makes a detailed describes the simulation principle, working mechanism, the simulation process to the NS2 network simulation platform.For power-constrained of the Ad Hoc network, based on the AODV protocol, this thesis also propound a node power conservation routing protocol-LAAODV routing protocol. According to node's remaining power, LAAODV can adaptively select routes, well balance of nodes power and load, prolongs node's life.Though the NS2 simulation platform experiment, we compare the performance of LAAODV protocol and AODV protocol. From the results of experiment, we can see that compared with AODV, LAAODV lowers nodes'power consumption, bala-nces nodes'loads and prolongs network's life under 3 different scenarios of average movement speed, the number of nodes and nodes residence time.
