A wireless mobile ad hoc network (WMANET) is a special network based on distributed communication, theory where nodes (terminals) with a group of wireless communication devices may move freely.The network has highly dynamic topology changes with the fixed infrastructure-less environment to be supported. Nodes (terminals) have capability to forward messages, through the layered network protocols and distributed arithmetic to coordinate with each other and achieve self-organized network. With the rapid development of the mobile communications and wireless network technique, WMANET has been applied to the military rescue and disaster relief, handling emergencies, sensor detection, a number of communications and so on.It has a strong strategic significance and good prospects. Wireless mobile ad hoc network is considered as the solution to the next generation of mobile communication which is expected to enjoy the priority in practical use.This thesis is based on the wireless mobile ad hoc network security technology research project. We focus on wireless mobile ad hoc network routing security research and contribute mainly on the following aspects.1. We describe ad hoc network as a research background, purpose and significance. We briefly recall research status and development trends at home and abroad. We focus on basic concepts, characteristics and key technical issues for WMANET.2. We analyze the fundamental algorithm of AODV (Ad hoc On-demand Distence Vector) protocol and detail route mechanism, working principle, current existent questions and development trends.3. We briefly analyze routing protocol security issues, discuss AODV protocol security mechanism and further research security protocol design on this basis. Put forward a secure routing protocol based on composite paths, multi routing and secure signature algorithm. The protocol contains security improvement of packet format, packet flow treatment, protocol module and routing-tables structure.4. We research AODV protocol simulation at QualNet platform and carry out simulation experiments for efficiency, safety performance of AODV and security protocol. Finally we verify the results that security protocol better meets secure and efficient performance requirements. These efforts provide theoretical basis and reference for research security routing technology on WMANET communication systems.Finally, we summarize the research work and inadequacies in this thesis, and point out the future research development of routing protocols in ad hoc network.
