Study On The Origin And Treatment Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Of Malignant Ascites And Traditional Chinese Medicine

Background:Malignant ascites is one of common complications of the late tumor. Chinese medicine has been widely used in clinical, for its toxic side effects, efficacy, easily accepted by patients, etc. The ancient physicians improved the understanding of malignant ascites through the long-term clinical observation and practice experience gradually, and accumulated a vast amount of literature. But there has been no study on the origins of malignant ascites yet. Professor Zuo majored in integrative treatment of cancer complications, who had a unique understanding of malignant ascites.Purpose:This study discussed the history of ancient physicians in ascites, to review and study of the characteristics of different stages. The study systematically summarized the modern physicians of malignant on ascites etiology, pathogenesis and TCM drugs in last 10 years. Summarizing clinical instructor experience of Professor Zuo, and to explore possible future research directions. It will be helpful to the further research of syndrome differentiation and treatment of malignant ascites.Methods:1、All aspects of pathogenesis and treatment of ascites syndrome theoretical were carded and summarized by different dynasties. The development and innovation were summarized by analyzing the main point of the physicians. The study focused on detailed analysis of representative works, which involves many aspects of ascites, pathogenesis, diagnosis and differential diagnosis and treatment. It’s helpful to provide reference for Chinese medicine treatment of malignant ascites.2、With "malignant ascites" as a keyword, full text database of Chinese journals were collected from 2006 to 2016 on China HowNet, knowledge service platform, and Wan Fang VIP data network. The trends and treatment system of modern Chinese medicine for malignant ascites were summarized in this study.Results:1、How ancient physicians recognized ascites can be divided into the following three periods:①Peliminary Period:in Qin, Han and Jin Dynasties, "Yellow Emperor", "Shen Nong’s Herbal Classic", "Febrile Diseases" laid a lot of theoretical basis for future generations of malignant ascites on diagnosis and treatment. ②Inheritance and development Period:in Sui, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, physicians added a lot of prescription treatment of ascites, which physicians later can refer to. ③Enriched and improved Period:in Ming and Qing, the Republic of China, physicians deeply recognized the understanding of the relevance of Zhengjia and ascites. External therapy of herbs made a huger leap than previous. Ancient physicians mostly treated ascites by oral decoction treatment.2、By referring to 101 articles in last 10 years, it’s found that the amount of literature reported on traditional Chinese medicine in clinical treatment of malignant ascites seemed to be an upward trend, and integrative medicine were more common. Moreover, male to female ratio was 1.14:1 with 3385 male cases and 2963 female cases. Primary diseases which caused malignant ascites was liver cancer, stomach cancer, gynecological cancer, colorectal cancer.3、On the basis of inheriting the tradition, the modern Chinese medicine had a better understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of this disease. With more experience in terms of diagnosis and treatment, they pointed out that cancer drugs are the root cause of malignant ascites.4、Currently external treatment was the common therapy, intraperitoneal treatment of Chinese medicine injection was widely used clinically, and has got a certain effect.5、Professor Zuo combined the previous theory with her clinical experience. She pointed out that Shidu was the key point which caused malignant ascites. She divided the malignant ascites into hot and cold ascites. This study summarized her clinical experience. It was useful with traditional Chinese medicine injection intraperitoneal, and application of TCM herbs.Conclusions:1、Ancient physicians treated ascites by systemic syndrome-based and oral decoction mostly. Surgical treatment of ancient Chinese tended to decline in history.2、In the literatures of last 10 years, the proportion of men was slightly more than women of the disease. Primary disease to liver cancer, stomach cancer, gynecological cancer, colorectal cancer were most common.3、Integrative approach is the future of medicine in the treatment of malignant ascites mainstream.4、Modern Chinese medicine pointed out that cancer drug was the root cause of malignant ascites.5、The systemic and part syndrome were often inconsistent in patients with malignant ascites. Physicians should pay more attention to the part syndrome.6、In terms of treatment, modern clinical medicine preferred to external treatment, in which traditional Chinese medicine injection intraperitoneal was the most widely used.7、Professor Zuo found Shidu was the main pathogenesis of malignant ascites, which could be divided into yang and yin. The malignant ascites ascites divided into hot and cold ascites, so did malignant ascites.
