This article introduces a method to create an Embedded System depend on PXA255 CPU and Windows CE Embedded OS. The application of this Embedded System is HMI, Human Machine Interface, which can be used in manufacturing in order to increase the productivity. The paper use several new technology , high speed signal hardware design, embedded OS, USB, all these make the HMI easy to control, small size, high core clock frequency, low power cost. One word, my project can expand the application field of the embedded system.HMI is a device can display the status of lower machine and control it. It is easy to watch and operate when use the HMI and it free the worker from the press — button, keyboard, indicator light and display instrument. The body of paper described how to set up a hardware platform use PXA255, memory chip, communication chip and other periphery chip, and how to set up a software platform for application. The hardware and software constitute the main part of the HMI.At first the paper tell the meaning of this embedded system used in HMI. Compare with other embedded system, the advantage of mine is low power, small size, reduced structure and fit for simple operation. The Chapter 3 give the design cycle of the system. The system separates the hardware and software during the design process in order to short the design time.In the hardware design, system uses the PXA255 Processor as the CPU to design the circuit. Memory design includes Synchronous Dynamic Radom Access Memory and FLASH Memory. The paper also gives the hardware address table in this part. The peripheral module of the system include mass storage,LCD display, ethernet interface, serial interface, multimedia card, USB and audio module. I use Cadence PSD develop kits to draw the print circuit board and give the design cycle and mention in the end of the Chapter 4.
