With the fast development of embedded technology and network technology, it is people's active demand to use the computer technology into various producing and living fields. According to the concrete demand of the storage area, this paper develops a storage security monitor system with advanced achievement of modern embedded technology for the storage manager. By the high performance embedded terminal and the network technology, the system provides a powerful storage manage tool which is easy to operation for the storage manager.The system mainly consists of the embedded system terminal, PC, and the MSP430 monitor board. The embedded terminal adopts the PXA255 processor as the hardware core, and based on the Windows CE.net system. It provides video monitor, data query, and remote monitor functions to the manager by connecting to PC through wireless IAN and connecting to MSP430 monitor board through GSM net. PC works as the server, and it provides the captured video data and query result to the embedded terminal. The MSP430 board implements nobody monitor by using the Doppler sensor, and it connects to the embedded terminal through the TC35 module and the GSM short message service net.This paper introduces the whole design and implementation of the system, especially the embedded system. In the hardware design of the embedded system, the paper introduces the selection of the core processor, and discusses on the design and implementation of the storage device, communication interface, man-machine interface and so on. Then, the paper introduces the procedure of transplanting the Windows CE.net operation system, especially the development of the device drivers such as LCD, Touch Screen, SD Card and CF/PC Card. Later, it mainly discusses the development of the user program, including the basic communication and data query between the embedded system and PC, capturing, transmitting and displaying the video image, the program of the MSP430 monitor board and the short message communication through GSM net. At last, the paper makes summary to the system, and puts forward in the future on the current insufficiency and the further use.
