| Summarized domestic and foreign current surveillance development and application, the writer discusses the image processing technology, the network technology and the transmitting & interface technology, which are closely related to the Digital Video Surveillance System. Four surveillance systems, based on different transmitting media, are designed: the Remote Video Surveillance System Based on the Embedded Web Servers, the Remote Video Surveillance System Based on the Specific Transmitting Line, the Remote Video Surveillance System Based on the Telephone Line and the Wireless Remote Video Surveillance System. With the gradual consummation of embedded Web server technology, users would supervise simply and effectively in the present network environment, by utilizing the video servers to turn analog pictures into digital pictures. The application of digital video surveillance system facilitates the popularity of video surveillance system. A practical design meeting telecom demands is provided in this paper.
