With modern scientific technology, especially the continuous development of media technologies and dissemination of the means constantly updated, the mass media in modern society has become ubiquitous source of information on social life and human development have a wide-ranging implications. And what makes us worry and deep concern about is the influences of the mass media environment to the view of the world, life and values of the young people, especially college students and ideological and political education. How to hold a correct view of the media environment's influence on the college students' concept of world, life, values and ideological and political education and how to take effective measures to deal with the influences is the important theoretical and practical issues. Under the guidance of the spirit of the document of the CPC Central Committee on strengthening and improving ideological and political education and using the basic theory of ideological and political education and related theories of media literacy, this article has taken a deep discussion on the influence and the countermeasures. The whole text is divided into three parts:Part one, an outline of the mass media environment of the ideological and political education. The mass media environment of ideological and political education is considered as the external conditions that composed by the mass media and have a broad influence on people's thinking, moral and behavior, as well as ideological and political education. The mass media environment of ideological and political education has many characteristics. Such as dynamic, complex, open, broad, and so on. The mass media environment of ideological and political education also has many functions such as orientation, infiltration.Part two, considering of the physical, psychological and ideological characteristics of college students, analysis the mass media environment's positive and negative impact on college students and the ideological and political Education. College students get confused and contradicted in the ideological, and therefore, the mass media environment has positive impact to college students and the environment of ideological and political education, while also brings negative impact that can not be ignored.Part three, based on the two former parts, give a summary to the problem and the way how to optimize the conditions, principles and ways of the mass media environment of ideological and political education. At the same time, make a point that "to strengthen media literacy education and enhance the media literacy of the college students and ideological and political education workers". "Media Literacy refers to the cultivation and the quality that the public contact, interpret and use the mass media," it's embodied in the capacity of independent thinking and critical spirit that the public should have when they face the mass media. By the media literacy education, enhance the media literacy of college students and ideological and political education workers, and weaken the negative influence caused by the mass media environment.
