Media literacy education is of great significance in contemporary China.With the rise of digital media such as film,television,radio,advertising,WeChat,and Weibo,electronic communication technology has developed rapidly.Thus,most of us are surrounded by various media information and the media is becoming more and more important in people's lives.What's more,the impact on young people is also huge.They should not only accept the theoretical knowledge in textbooks,but also accept the massive media knowledge with a wider range and a larger amount of information,but they also lack sufficient time and opportunity to distinguish,digest and absorb these media information.Media fast food culture is more likely to affect young people's world outlook,outlook on life and values,resulting in adverse effects.For example: high school students' excessive dependence on media,entertainment-oriented media motivation and how to sift and use media.Though,at present,the media literacy education and the ideological and political education are different,they have similarities that both of them start from the perspective of students to improve students' core literacy,cultivate their comprehensive quality and the ability to adapt to the times' scientific and technological development.Therefore,the research on school media literacy education is so important.Meanwhile,when it comes to school education,it will definitely involve the curriculum.The curriculum is the core and key point of school education.Consequently,the analysis of the application of media literacy education in the teaching of high school ideological and political courses is of great significance.This paper clarifies the importance and significance of the application of media literacy education in high school ideological and political education by researching the definition of media literacy and media literacy education and combining the core literacy of high school ideological and political disciplines.Besides,it tries to compare the resources of rural and urban schools,from the perspective of high school teachers and students,to show the problems in the application of media literacy education in the teaching of high school ideological and political courses,and to analyze the main reasons.Finally,from the perspective of the improvement of rural education resources,the promotion of high school teachers' media consciousness,media ability and knowledge,and the high school students' critical thinking and theirmedia motivation for media information,it sums up the strategies used in the research.
