Urged by the policies of expanding college admission while at the same time with the lack of government investment in education, China's higher education has realized the transform from"elite education"to"mass education"within five years.Having gained the outstanding achievements on one hand, China's colleges, on the other hand, fall in debt crisis.With the exposure of data of higher debts, the problem of colleges'high debts has attracted the social wide attention.Whether this problem can get a suitable solution has a profound influence on the healthy and sustainable development of China's higher education.This article first introduces the current situation of running higher education in debts in China, analyzes the problems in it, as well as the conditions and causes of it from different perspectives.Then, by comparison, it explores the characteristics and possible types of college debts crisis, on the base of which the risk prevention and control system is constructed, followed by a case study with the application of risk model.Finally, suggestions on how to help China's higher education get out of the difficulties are proposed.
