In this essay, the use of rhetoric figures is analyzed in the Chinese teaching materials in Singapore primary schools. It includes the distribution of rhetoric figures in the teaching materials, the aim of rhetoric terms in the Chinese textbooks in primary schools, and last but not least, the main content of the use of rhetoric in the Chinese teaching materials in primary schools. At the same time, an objective analysis is done on the relationship between the use of rhetoric in Singapore primary schools and the training of Chinese languae ability to the students, and the importance is discussed of rhetoric education in Singapore primary schools on the teaching of Chinese language.The methods of statistics and comparison are used in this essay. Based on an investigation on the distribution of rhetoric use in the teaching materials in Singapore primary schools, together with an analysis on the use of rhetoric in the Children's reading materials Thumb and a collection of excellent compositions in primary schools in Singapore, a study is done on the teaching of Chinese rhetoric in primary schools in Singapore. The problems are pointed out and a explanation is done on the principles and methods in selecting rhetoric for textbooks.
