under the current education system in China, grade three high-school students, as a special group, are facing with keen competition and overloading serious learning and psychological pressure for the College Entrance Examination. They need to be released completely from such a learning and psychological burden by being taught something more important than knowledge, say, method ,to dissolve their so-called "strategy iceberg" . Many researches in this field have proved that by using proper learning strategies, students' academic achievements can be improved accordingly. Therefore, it will be of great theoretical and practical significance to know about the current state of the grade three high school students' using of learning strategies,and help them to master , and use some effect learning strategies. Further more, as personal internal reasons of grade three high school students' behaviors and outcomes, self-efficacy and achievement motive are supposed to show special relationship with learning strategies and their academic achievements in the College Entrance Examination. So they are also the important items to be investigated in this study.The current research is based on the questionaire for 514 grade three high-school students from four schools: the 42nd High School in Xi'an, the 44th High School in Xi'an, the 1st High School of Yangxian county in Hanzhong city, and the 2nd High School of Yangxian county in Hanzhong city. Four scales were used in this research to explore the general state of learning strategies' using, the relationship among learning strategy , self-efficacy, and achievement motive, and the relationship among learning strategies' using, self-efficacy, achievement motivation, and the students' achievements in the College Entrance Examination: the Learning Strategy Scale for Middle School Students, the Academic Self-efficacy Scale, the General Self-efficacy Scale, and the Achievement Motive Scale.The conclusions are as follows:First, grade three high school students can make proper use of learning strategies.
