Re-orientation Of Good Teachers With The Modern Educational Media

The media, as important means and methods of teaching, evolve and develop ceaselessly in the long history. The connotation of teaching profession changes in accordance with the development of educational media. In order to be a good teacher in different times, the teacher should to improve his or her qualities and abilities correspondingly. Only when a teacher masters the operation skills and methods of educational media, can he or she bring the teaching functions into full play.In my paper, the influence of educational media bring to education cause is described first. The influence in different period is specified. Second, I discussed what kind of qualities, abilities and knowledge structure a teacher should possess in the traditional education environment. An analysis about the relationship between a good teacher and the media is presented. It is made clear that the coming into being of the modem educational media challenges the traditional connotation of a good teacher. Then based on the analysis on the challenge of modern educational media posed to teachers' qualities, a discuss about what a modem good teacher should be like is carried on from three points of view, that is teachers' qualities, teachers' role and teachers' functions. There is an investigation on the current situation about the teachers' usage of modem educational media. Based on the summary of this investigation, it is clearly pointed out what kind of distance we are facing between the present teachers' qualities and the requirement of being modem good teachers. Furthermore, some constructive ideas are put forward on how to cultivate modem good teachers, that is to strengthen the teachers' training to bring out more modem good teachers.
