Clothing in television dramas and films, as an important means of shaping roles, it is not only an important aspect of modeling, but also in film and television dramas, as modeling language, such as the lens, light effect, rhythm, scene, etc, bear an important ideographic function, show the very high aesthetic value and aesthetic consequence. This article from the view of film language, clothing as an important component of language in film and television dramas, analyses its apparent function of the shape and aesthetic consequence in the film and television dramas, points out that the organic unity of the clothing style and its meaning is the key principle of the design and creation.Since the 20th century, a universal opinion of art aesthetics, is being the art as a language, the art of language as a way of expression, as a public art, film and television, will naturally have its own language system. The art of Television and film recognizes and reflects the objective world and transmits thoughts and feelings in a special artistic language. Differenced from the general language, language of film and television is directly access intuitive, specific, clear-cut image to viewer′s audio-visual senses to convey the meaning, have a strong artistic appeal. Television images are the basic elements of language. the performances, scenes, lighting, color, makeup, clothing and so on participating in the creation of the screen image constitutng the special vocabulary of film and television, have played an important role.A long time, for the study of film and television costumes, whether it is the creation of theory or the actual construction did not cause enough attention. Since the last eight centuries, the past decade, with the the process of film language modernization, but also becoming increasingly aware of the creation of visual arts, the significance of clothing in movies and television screen gradually emerged, and in the exploration of practice achieved much score. China's film "Raise the Red Lantern," "The Story of Qiu Ju" Italy have won Award for Best Costume Design in Venice Film Festival, Chinese-language films "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" won the 2000 Academy Award for Best Costume Design, " Curse of the Golden Flower "also won the 2006 Oscar nominations for Best Costume Design. From these winning works we can see that the clothing has a direct role of shaping the film picture and the artistic style; modern clothing style of the movie has completely broken through the traditional ways, toward a modern Style. Modern film and television drama pay attention to the fashion modeling language more and more. However, a number of Chinese film and television costume's design does not follow the requirements of modeling language arts and visual requirements of the laws of creation, has great destructive power, reduces the play's artistic value and creative level . Historical drama such as "Great Ming Dynasty," the costumes are more like drama's costumes, lost the characteristics of film and television costumes.This article studies clothes and the modeling is intended to have multiple meanings: First, through the research of clothing's function, attach important television dressing, and items and other small aspect in future theoretical studies and add Great efforts on its research. Second, through this research, we can excavated the organic relationship between ideographic language and its function have important guiding significance in the present and future of film and television costume design. For example, in the current film and television works, there is a tendency to pursuit of formal beauty blindly, neglecting of the spiritual connotation of the garment modeling , so that clothing in the picture did not have a harmony relationship with other elements. Third, this study can ,for the design and our creativity in the future, provide a new way to how to use rich dress culture of china to improve the national style of costume in movie.From the scope of the study, the traditional method is to select a director, or a national, regional film and television drama as the scope of the study, such research can only be summed up the characteristics of a person or the National Film clothing, is not conducive to the body shape of the function of the garment. Therefore, starting from the ontology language system, starting from the example of the clothing in the well-known Chinese and foreign film and television of the use of semiotics, through the methods of linguistics, apparel culture interpretation of the language of clothing in the film and television, analysis the modeling language and apparent systematic function, in order to draw their own conclusions.The innovation of this study, using the film theory and clothing art theory ,being the costume in film and television drama for the object, differenced from a general study of clothing on the aesthetic and function of costumes, use the film and television art theory of the special type of clothing dependening on Television drama, analyses the functions of clothing as a symbol in the film and television drama."Film and television costumes in film and television drama in addition to the general aesthetic significance, it is important to assume the role of shaping the image ,reflecting the characteristics and cultural connotations, reflecting the creative director and designer style and atmosphere contrast, the value of symbols, such as building a culture of many ideographic functional species. "are the conclusions of this article, and on this basis ,this article give some views and suggestions on the clothing style and color in film.In the process of collecting information, I found information on clothing movie is more fragmented, and very scarce. The aspects of the television system are little, so only from a variety of newspapers and magazines to find information. This aroused the author's desire of the study even more ,to hope that through the analysis and study, make some contribution to the development for the study of Chinese film and television costume.
