Products are the man-made things to serve people. The surrounding has a great effect on both human mental and human physical. Cognition always starts with sense. Therefore, sense is the key point of studying the relationship between people and product. Virtually, this paper makes a further study on the people-to-people and the product-to-people senses in product development.In the scope of affective design, this paper focuses on the senses of user, designer and product, and then presents a preliminary idea that designer treats sense as an important design element and makes product arouse user's sense in order to give user an affective enjoinment.At first part, origination, structure and memory of sense are presented to show that user's sense is very different from the designer's. Art sense is the higher level of sense that designer should have. The second part introduces art thinking and art sensibility from painting into product design for designer to master sense and demonstrates the structure of art sensibility. At last, how to use the sense elements in product development as to forming product figure sense is argued. The innovative conclusion is that designer makes use of innovating sense, changing sense way and recombining senses to guide the product development process. This conclusion is illustrated with case study and designer practice.
