Objective:To investigate the occurrence and development of related risk factors of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Method: It was collected about 114 patients diagnosed as type 2 diabetic by our hospital endocrinology during the period of December 2006-January 2009. According to the results of fundus fluorescein angiography, all patients were divided into two groups: non-diabetic retinopathy (NDR) and diabetic retinopathy (DR). At the same time some measures were surveyed, such as: age, course of the disease, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose(FBG), postprandial 2 hour blood glucose (2hBG), saccharification hemoglobin(HbAlc), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), 24 hour urinary protein excretion, serum blood urea (BU), serum creatinine (Cr) and so on. Then compare the difference of two groups and analyse the relevance with DR. Results: There were statistically significant differences(P<0.05)in age, course of diabetes, FBG, TC, LDL, SBP, DBP, 24 hour urinary protein excretion between the two groups. But there were no statistically significant differences in other factors. The result of logistics regression showed that age, FBG, were statistically significant relevance with DR (P<0.05) and regarded as the independent risk factors for DR in type 2 diabetes. Conclusion:Eld, long course of diabetes, hyperglycaemia, hyperlipemia, hypertension, the anomaly of 24 hour urinary protein excretion were risk factors of diabetes retinopathy. So Strict control of blood glucose, blood fat, high blood pressure can delay the occurrence and development of diabetes retinopathy.
