Objective:With the society'development and improvement of living standard, the problems related with lifestyle gradually appeared. The incidences of many diseases showed up the increasing tendency, such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes, obesity / overweight etc. These problems are very important to all of people. So there are more and more studies about diets and health, and some factors to impact diet and health are important contents , such as nutritional knowledge level, the habit of diet, lifestyle etc. For the difference of job character and living conditions, there are fifferences among the public employment in the nutritional concept , diet habit and lifestule. As a Municipalities, though there are some studies about the relationshiop between the nutritional status of public employment and some diseases related with nutrition, the research about nutritional knowledge level, diet habit and lifestyles have not seen. So we investigaed the status of 3824 people in public employment of chongqing city in 2008, analysised the nutritional knowledge level, diet habit and lifestyles of the population and it was very important to guide the people to rational diet and educate them the nutritonal knowledges. .Methods:1. Dietary Survey: A questionnaire survey. Survey for 3859, Yuzhong District, a public officer with the basic conditions, nutrition and food hygiene knowledge to grasp the situation, dietary habits and dietary intake and lifestyle.2. A total number of 3859 questionnaires were issued, excluding fill in incomplete and apparent logic errors, 35 were recovered were 3824 valid questionnaires, efficiency of 99.09%. Stratified sampling method, in which organs of the civil service 44 people, 203 kindergarten teachers, primary teachers, 2247 people, 917 were secondary school teachers, vocational secondary school teachers, 413 persons, total 3824 people. By age group, in which 2028 young group of people, middle-aged group of 1417 people, the elderly group of 379 people. By gender group, of which 1031 were men, women 2793 people.3. Statistical analysis: All data entry SPSS13.0 unified package, with a descriptive analysis, chi-square test, variance analysis, t test and other statistical methods to analyze data, measurement data were presented as mean±standard deviation. P <0.05 as significant difference, P <0.01 as very significant.Results:1. In 3824 nutritional knowledge survey, only four people were right in all questionnaires, accounting for 0.1%. Of which 10 nutrition knowledge questions to master the best food in the main source of vitamin C, the correct rate was 84.0%; master the worst cooking oil per day for adults, limited edition, the correct rate was only 18.8%; the rest of knowledge points accuracy of each of the occasions: the lowest fat content of meat 79.3%, 76.1% of high-quality protein source, limit intake of hyperlipidemia 68.4%, food 63.4% calcium content of the most abundant, containing cholesterol, 55.9% more food, knowing or learn more about dietary guidelines, 37.8%, adult 33.2% of daily salt intake limits. At the same time, 23.4% of the population expressed the need for professional dietitians for nutritional guidance or conditioning. In the unit group, the kindergarten teachers and primary school teachers in nutrition knowledge between the level of significant or very significant difference (p <0.05), kindergarten teachers, the best accuracy rate was 64.1%; primary school teachers in poor, accuracy 50.0%; in all age groups, nutrition, followed by the correct rate of 56.0% for the middle-aged group; old group 54.8%, 52.5% of youth groups; in sex sub-groups, followed by 55.4% for women, men 50.2%.2. In the 3824 samples about diet habits, the passing percent of the six kinds of investigations about the diet habits is low, only 47.8%. only 39 in the 6 investigations are specially excellent, accounting for 1.0%; of the 6 synthetical items ,585 people are good, accounting for 15.3%; the passing number is 1204 , accounting for 31.5%; the disqualification get up to 1996 , accounting for 52.2%. Meanwhile, males are completely different from females (p <0.05), percentage of passing,females(53.5%,) are better than males ( 40.9%), in the elderly diet habits most Well, young people the worst. Dietary habits among the various units was significant difference (p <0.05) is more than passing, and the proportion of kindergarten teachers, preferably 61.6%, 31.7% of secondary school teachers was the worst, followed by organs of the remaining units 56.8%, 54.3% primary school , the staff of 40.4%. Good dietary habits in the population the project, the fruit intake of females than males; grains and vegetable intake, all age groups, especially young people poor; and all ages of people regard milk and eggs important,and famales take more than males.3. In related lifestyle, there was a significant or very significant difference between men and women (p <0.05). Good rate of female of 56.5%, a good rate was 13.8% in men and women were significantly better than males. In no alcohol habits and regular exercise , men were 17.3% and 10.4% respectively; females were 98.5% and 14.4% respectively. In the age group, the lifestyle of the elderly group was significantly better than middle-aged, youth group, followed by a good rate of 55.9%, 48.6% and 40.4%. In no alcohol bad habits and regular exercise, young group were 72.8% and 8.0%; middle-aged group were 79.0% and 18.2%; old group were 88.1% and 23.7%Conclusion:1. It is not good in the nutrition knowledge level of the public employment and there is large gap between the diet habit of the population and diet guide or balanced diet pagoda. But in different population, women are better than men, older are better than middle-aged or younger and kindergarten teacher are better than other teachers.2. On the lifestyle of excessive drinking and usual training , the investigation showed that the difference is large, women are better than men and older are better than middle-aged or younger.3.The investigation also showed that as a population of higher culture self-cultivation, the state of prehension in nutrition knowledge and fiet habit among the pulic employment are not good. We can suppose that other population in suburban area or countryside would be worse. So it was very important to guide the population to rational diet and educate them the nutritonal knowledges.
