Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of XRCC1 and ERCC1 protein in esophageal carcinoma tissue and adjacent tissue and the Clinicopathologic Characteristics of esophageal carcinoma. Methods: The expression of XRCC1 and ERCC1 proteins of 153 esophageal carcinoma tissue and 76 adjacent tissue specimens were detected and compared with immunohistochemical technique. The relationship between the expression of XRCC1 and ERCC1 proteins and the clinicopathological parameters of esophageal cancer was analyzed. Results:The rate of expression of XRCC1 and ERCC1 proteins were 54.2%(83/153)and 34.6%(53/153)in esophageal carcinoma tissue respectively. The expression of XRCC1 protein in esophageal carcinoma and adjacent tissue were 55.3%(42/76)and 13.1%(10/76)respectively,which were significantly different(P<0.05). The expression of ERCC1 protein in esophageal carcinoma was higher than that in adjacent tissue, but there was not significant statistical difference between them(P>0.05). The expression of XRCC1 protein was not correlated with nation, age, clinical stage, pathology type, tumor location, lymph node, metastasis. The expression of ERCC1 protein was not correlated with nation, age, clinical stage, pathology type, tumor location, lymph node, metastasis. Conclusion: Expression of XRCC1 is possibly related to the tumorigenesis of esophageal carcinoma. |
