In this essay,we discussed the theoretical basis and clinical research of Sjogren's syndrome, using moistening dryness and promoting blood circulation method to treat the syndrome of Yin deficiency and dry heat and blood stasis of Sjogren's syndrome.Documental Research:Sjogren's Syndrome is classified as dryness syndrome by most physicians. Through the documental research we think etiological factors and pathogenesis of Sjogren's Syndrome is mainly deficiency, dryness, toxin, blood stasis, etc. Because of blood stasis caused by deficiency, vessel obstruction caused by blood stasis, toxins caused by dryness, and organs poisoned by toxin, all cause waste of body fluid, disturbance of spreading, and dysfunction of metabolism. The pathological features of Sjogren's Syndrome are deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality. Yin deficiency is the most common reason of deficiency in origin while dryness, blood stasis and heat are of excess in superficiality. Based on that, we choose the method of moistening dryness and promoting blood circulation method to treat Yin deficiency and dry heat and blood stasis syndrome of Sjogren's syndrome.Clinical Research:Objective:Study the clinical efficacy and safety of moistening dryness and promoting blood circulation method to treat Yin deficiency and dry heat and blood stasis syndrome of Sjogren's syndrome through clinical case study. Study the diagnosis effect of salivary electrolyte, and observe the influence of salivary electrolytes by using moistening dryness and promoting blood circulation method. Methods:This research includes 40 patients divided into treatment group (20 cases) and control group (20 cases). In the basic treatment such as artificial tears, immune regulator, treatment group is given Chinese medicine decoction which is taken twice daily per decoction. Chinese herbal formula uses Mai Dong Di Shao Decoction and Tao Hong Si Wu decoction modification. Mai Dong Di Shao Decoction is the experience decoction of Professor Wang and is the combination of Mai Dong, Sheng Di, Chi Shao, Zi Yuan and other herbcomponents. The control group is given hydroxychloroquine 0.1g twice daily, for 12 weeks. Results:The total effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine group is 80% while Western medicine control group is 50%, which has statistical significance (P<0.05).In the laboratory check, the treatment group and control group are both effective (P<0.05), but there is no difference between the two (P> 0.05). SS patient group and normal control group has no statistical significance with their salivary electrolyte Na+concentration and Na+/K+ ratio(P> 0.05), K+ concentration, Na+ secretion per minute, and K+ secretion per minute has statistical significance (P<0.05).There is no statistical significance between the traditional Chinese medicine group and Western medicine group about salivary electrolytes. Conclusion:moistening dryness and promoting blood circulation method to treat Yin deficiency and dry heat and blood stasis syndrome of Sjogren's syndrome is effective. Compared to Western medicine group, it can significantly alleviate patients' clinical symptoms of dry mouth, dry eyes, dry skin, dry stool, improve laboratory indicators, regulate the immune functions to a certain extent, and is safer with better patient compliance. The salivary electrolytes of SS patients and normal people are different but no statistical significance, so it is not related to the diagnosis of SS.The influence of moistening dryness and promoting blood circulation traditional Chinese medicine for salivary electrolytes is to adjust its level to normal.
