Codonopsis pilosula Franch (Nannf), as a traditional tonic, promotes the secretion of the function, spleen, gas used in weakness, dizziness flustered, deficiency of both qi, etc. The quality control of Radix Codonopsis in literature are almost focused on atractylenoideâ…¢and Lobetyolin. And in the China pharmacopoeia (2010 vision), only the thin layer identification was indexed, but no content determination. In this article, the chemical constituents was first extracted, then the separation and purification followed. In order to better control the quality of Codonopsis pilosula, multi-index quality control were also performed.1.Extraction, separation and identification of chemical composition in the roots of Codonopsis pilosula. The 70% ethanol extraction was performed through macroporous resin, silica gel, Sephadex and preparative HPLC, respectively. Six compounds were isolated:Lobetyolin, Atractylenoideâ…¢, Tangshenosidâ…£,(6R,7R)-trans, trans-14 alkyl-4,12-diene-8,10-diyne-1,6,7 calcitriol, syringin and Vanillic acid.2. Studies on fingerprints of each elution part after macroporous resin using 70% ethanol extraction. The 10% ethanol part contained larger polar components.3.The study on multi-index quality control of Codonopsis pilosula. A HPLC method for simultaneous determination of lobetyolin, atractylenoideâ…¢and tangshenosidâ…£was established here. And a multi-component quantification method by one marker was also established. Compared with the results obtained by an external standard method, the new method was scientific, feasibility and consistent.4. Simultaneous determination of lobetyolin, atractylenoideâ…¢and tangshenosidâ…£in 7 Codonopsis samples with different origin.
