| Meridian Theory is the basic of the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)theory. Meridian Theory researches on the distribution of the meridian-collateral system, physiological function, pathological changes and the viscera relationship. Many scholars have done a lot of studies on the meridian essence with different methodsfrom different points of view. In this paper, a new method was applied to meridian research. It was that using low-frequency acupoints magnetic stimulation to induce Propagated Sensation, then observing the changes of temperature field along meridianthrough infrared thermal imaging method. Following contents were included:Based on magnetic characteristics and Propagated Sensation of the meridian, the paper proposed low-frequency acupoints magnetic stimulation by using a hybridelectrified coil, which was nondestructive, noninvasive and non-contacting to body. The stimulating coil was designed. Both ANSYS simulation analysis of electromagnetic field soft and theoretical deduction and calculation were used to analyze focusing capability, maneuverability and penetrability of magnetic field in order to determineparameters of the coil. An acupoints magnetic stimulation system, in which ADuC845 MCU was the control unit, was developed. This system could export kinds of patternsof signals to drive the coil generating magnetic field, which would act on acupoints. The measurement showed that the magnetic field met the design requirement. The experimental scheme of animal and human body was designed. The infrared imaging temperature measurement method was used to detect the distribution oftemperature along the Du meridian of rabbits and human bodys directly in order to research on the variation regularity of temperature field pre-and post the acupoints magnetic stimulation. We used Multipoint calibration, one point calibration, image enhancement of Successive Approximation, and Pseudo-color processing to obtaintemperature data and then to study meridian visualization of organism. The results of the experiments on animals and human bodys showed that acupoints magnetic stimulation could cause temperature variation along meridian. The conclusion not only proved the existence of the meridian, but also pointed out a new research direction in meridian essence. |
