Effect Of YinXiePing Pill On The Clinical Feature And Interleukin-8 (IL-8) Production In The Blood-heat Syndrome Of Psoriasis Vulgaris

Objective:To study the effects of Yinxieping pill on blood-heat syndrome of psoriasis vulgaris and its impact on IL-8 in serum; To investigate the possible mechanism of Yinxieping pill in treating psoriasis vulgaris. To identify the role of IL-8 in the pathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris and its clinical significance.Methods:Seventy patients with blood-heat syndrome of psoriasis vulgaris were assigned equally in a single-blind, randomized way to the treatment group and the control group.35 patients in the treatment group treated with YinXiePing pill and the other 35 in the control group treated with FuFangQingDai pill. The therapeutic course for both groups was 8 weeks. Besides, a normal control group consisting of 20 healthy volunteers was set up. PASI in different groups were observe and scored before and after treatment to evaluate the therapeutic effectiveness, adverse reaction occurred was monitored, and the correlation was analysed between PASI score and IL-8 concentration in serum measured by ELLISA. Results:1. The level of IL-8 in serum in the two patient groups before treatment was obviously higher than that in the healthy control (P<0.01), after treatment, IL-8 in serum was significantly decreased in both groups (P<0.01, P<0.01, respectively), with the changes in the treatment group were more significant than those in the control group (P<0.01).2. PASI score was significantly decreased after treatment in both groups (P<0.01, P<0.01, respectively), but the decrement in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group(P<0.01).3. There was a significant positive correlation between PASI score and IL-8 concentration in patients.4. Total clinical effective rate in the treatment group and the control group was 82.35%% and 53.00% respectively, Comparison between groups showed that the total effective rate in the treatment group was significantly superior to that in the control group (P<0.05), no obvious treatment-related side effects appeared in the treatment group.Conclusion:1. Yinxieping pill could decreased both the IL-8 level and PASI score in blood-heat syndrome of psoriasis vulgaris, it has obvious curative effect and good safety in treating psoriasis vulgaris.2. The therapeutic effect of Yinxieping pill is probably based on suppression of inflammatory factor such as IL-8 in psoriasis, which are critical in the pathogenesis of the disease.3. IL-8 concentration in patients has a significant positive correlation with PASI score, it could took as an efficacy criteria in psoriasis.
