Objective:To investigate and analyze the comorbidities such as metabolic syndrome, obesity, cardiovascular disease, psoriatic arthritis, autoimmune diseases, other behavioral performance changes, cancer etc. in patients with psoriasis. Methods:We retrospectively reviewed the records of the psoriasis patients admitted in the dermatological ward of The 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University from December 1st 2008 to February 28th 2011. The data such as:gender, age, onset age, hypertension and diabetes mellitus histories, body mass index (BMI), total cholesterol(TCH), triglyceride(TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) etc. were recorded. We analyzed how these factors influence psoriasis comorbidities.Results:(1) Onset age of female patients were mostly before 40. (2) There was no significant difference (P> 0.05) in hypertension morbidity between male and female patients. (3) There was no significant difference (P> 0.05) in diabetes mellitus morbidity between male and female patients. (4) There was no significant difference (P > 0.05) in obesity morbidity between male and female patients. (5) There was significant difference(P< 0.01) in obesity morbidities between Ps type I and Ps typeⅡpatients. (6) There was significant difference(P< 0.01) in hypertension morbidities in Ps type II patients. (7) Diabetes mellitus morbidities in Ps patients were much higher than in the general population. (8) There were no significant differences (P> 0.05) in increasing of total cholesterol, triglycerides. There was no significant difference (P> 0.05) in decreasing of low density lipoprotein cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. (9) In tumor markers, SCC has significant difference between Ps type I and Ps typeⅡpatients (P< 0.05). The other makers:CEA, AFP, CA199, CA125, CA242, CA211, CA724, NSE,βSCG, CA153, PSA, f-PSA, TPSA,f-TPSA have no significant difference (P> 0.05).Conclusions:Psoriasis is not just a skin-deep disease, is a chronic inflammatory diseases complicated with many other system damage. Need clinical physicians at the time of treatment, and assess the situation of multiple systems. Comprehensive physical examination on early symptoms and signs of complications is important to monitor and, if necessary, look for multidisciplinary work closely, such as a dermatologist, cardiovascular and endocrine disease doctors, and so on. Healthy diet habits and lifestyles are important to the patients.
