Objective:By collecting literature of xerostomia after radiotherapy, summarized the pathogenesis of the disease, syndrome, therapy and medication characteristics of the law and the theoretical innovation of modern physicians to guide the clinical treatment of radiation xerostomia. Methods:Establish the Excel data tables by collecting 300 journal articles from 1990 to 2010 as the main source of data, and classify them by cause differentiation syndrome with blood fluid. These 300 documents containing medical record was divided into six major syndromes, did statistical analysis of the literatures. We summarized its basic pathogenesis, clinical classification and therapeutic principle method, and input the drugs used in each card type into Excel data tables, count the core drugs, to further summarize the basic prescription. On this basis, focusing on the regularity of drug prescriptions, preliminary analyze Xerostomia after radiotherapy treatment of the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine and theoretical innovation point of view, summed up the academic thinking of treating such diseases.Result:Xerostomia after radiotherapy can be divided into six major syndromes:1 Heat-toxin dampness type,2 Phlegm resistance type,3 Qi stagnation and blood stasis type,4 Yin Huo-wang-type,5 Qi and Yin Deficiency type,6 Blood deficiency type1 Heat-toxin dampness type(1) Etiology and Pathogenesis:Yongsheng toxic heat, blood stasis Jininjury(2) Therapeutic treatment methods:Detoxification, blood stasis,YangYinShengJin(3) Prescription drug using characteristics:based on Xiehuo detoxification, e.g. Phellodendron, Coptis, Scutellaria, Silver Flower, Gardenia. Second using Yin cooling blood stasis drugs, e.g. Scrophulariaceae, habitat, Dan, TPG, Millettia, peach kernel, safflower(4) Basic prescription:Huanglian Jiedu Tang, flavors disinfected drinking2 Phlegm resistance type(1) Etiology and Pathogenesis:Resistance phlegm, blood stasis, not distributing body fluid(2) Therapeutic treatment methods:Dampness and phlegm, qi and blood circulation, alleviate mental depression and distribute body fluid(3) Prescription drug using characteristics:Based on dampness and phlegm, qi and blood circulation, e.g. Pinellia, Arisaema, Zhejiang bulb of fritillary, Fritillaria, barley, Poria,Polyporus, Chuanxiong, peach kernel, safflower. Second using suppressing hyperactive liver for calming endogenous wind drugs, e.g. Silkworm, scorpion (4) Basic prescription:Dao Tan Tang, Two Chen Fritillaria Tang3 Qi stagnation and blood stasis type(1) Etiology and Pathogenesis:Bleeding resistance, liver qi stagnation(2) Therapeutic treatment methods:promote blood circulation to dispel blood stasis, disperse the depressesd liver-energy and conduct qi(3) Prescription drug using characteristics:Based on promoting blood circulation, dispelling blood stasis and conducting qi, e.g. Peach kernel, safflower, Chuanxiong, frankincense, myrrh, orange peel, Citrus aurantium. Second using Habitat, Scrophulariaceae, red peony root, angelica, peony(4) Basic prescription:Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction, Chaihu Shugan San, Sihai Yuhu Tang 4 Yin Huo-wang-type,(1) Etiology and Pathogenesis:Hyperactivity of deficient fire, Yin- deficiency of liver and kidney(2) Therapeutic treatment methods:nourish yin to purge fire, cool and enrich the blood(3) Prescription drug using characteristics:Based on nourish yin to purge fire, cool and enrich the blood, e.g. Adenophora, Dan, raw land, cultivated land, Anemarrhena, Treats, Ophiopogon japonicus, aspartame, Dendrobium, Polygonatum, white peony root. Second using qi-tonifying drugs, e.g. Astragalus, American Ginseng(4) Basic prescription:Zhibai Dihuang Wan, Chai Shao Di Huang Tang, Radix Ophiopogon soup5 Qi and Yin Deficiency type,(1) Etiology and Pathogenesis:Qi and Yin Deficiency, organs lost glory(2) Therapeutic treatment methods:Qi Yin double fill, tonify Qi and nourish Jin(3) Prescription drug using characteristics:Based on qi-tonifying drugs, yin tonics, Astringent drugs, damp-clearing drugs, e.g. Ginseng, Atractylodes, Ophiopogon, Schisandra. Second using Dampness medicine and relieving drugs, e.g. Poria, Bupleurum(4) Basic prescription:decoction of four noble drugs, Pulse-Activatiod Decoction6 Blood deficiency type(1) Etiology and Pathogenesis:qi-blood deficiency(2) Therapeutic treatment methods:Double complement blood and qi(3) Prescription drug using characteristics:Based on qi-tonifying drugs, blood tonics, damp-clearing drugs, Blood circulation drugs, qi-activating drugs, e.g. Ginseng, Atractylodes, Poria,, Moreover, Chuanxiong, angelica, licorice. Second using Astringent drugs and Dampness medicines, e.g. Schisandra, Amomum.(4) Basic prescription:Bazhen Tang, Renshen Yangrong decoction. Conclusion:From the literature review that (1) Clinical manifestations of radiation xerostomia single main symptoms, mainly dry mouth, but combining disorders are complex. (2) there are many types, but every type has not single symptom, usually combining with other syndromes. (3) therapeutic medication:Combined application of several treatment methods, but clearing away pathogenic heat and removing the toxin, promoting blood circulation to removing blood stasis were often used. (4) Proposed "sour and sweet yin," "blood sensitization" as effective drug treatment of the disease...
