Objectives:To investigate the preparedness status of disaster medical rescue in urban community health service centers of Jilin province.Methods:Designed the preparedness questionnaire for disaster medical rescue in urban community health service center and the disaster medical rescue knowledge and skill questionnaire for the medical staff in urban community health service center, and investigated 20 managers and 313 medical staffs of 20 urban community health service centers selected randomly from 9 cities/prefecture in Jilin province.Results:Respectively 15%,40%and 80%of general practitioners, nurses and public health doctors of the investigated centers were failing to meet the national standards in the provision. The percentage of centers which conducted disaster medical rescue drill is 45%, conducted outdoor trauma rescue training account for 30%. The percentage conducted biological/chemical terrorist attack rescue training is 5%.Only 15% centers had disaster rescue funding. All of the centers do not have enough disaster medical relief material resources.60%of managers from the urban community health service centers considered their centers have been well prepared for disaster medical rescue. The total score of disaster medical rescue knowledge and skill test for the medical staff was 18.4±4.0.The results were compared by grouping, according to whether the medical staff have studied the relevant policies and regulations of disaster medical rescue, whether concerns the knowledge and information of disaster medical rescue and whether have been involved in disaster medical rescue training, and the difference was significant.Conclusions:The disaster medical rescue of urban community health service centers in Jilin province is not well prepared. The government should strengthen human resources allocation, disaster rescue funding and relief material resources input, meanwhile. medical staffs should reinforce the consciousness of disaster medical rescue, enhance competence through training, to meet the need of disaster medical rescue in urban community health service centers.
