Comparison Study Of Long-term Effect Between Acupuncture Combined With Western Medicine And Only Western Medicine On Migraine Without Aura

Objective:To evaluate long-term effects of migraine without aura by using scalp acupuncture combined with western medicine and only western medicine.Methods:Choosing the random, contrast and single-blind research method, the cases were divided into two groups:western medicine group(treated with naproxen) and scalp acupuncture group(treated with scalp acupuncture combined with the remote point selection and naproxen,30 min one time,5 consecutive times the first week, rest 2 days,3 times per week in later 3 weeks (once every other day)) for 4 weeks. After treatments, The difference between Visual Analogue Score (VAS) and TCM Syndrome were observed respectively after one month, two month, three month and compare long-term effect of both groups.Result:There was no statistical difference in baseline data between groups (P>0.05).The syndrome effectiveness of the scalp acupuncture group was higher than that of the other statistically significantly (P<0.05),month after the end of treatment. During the three-month follow up,VAS and TCM syndrome score between the two groups showed that the scalp acupuncture group was superior to western medicine group (P<0.05). VAS and TCM syndrome score of the two groups changed over time (P<0.05),and the scores between the two groups are different trends over time, the scalp acupuncture group was superior to the other (P<0.05).Three month after the end of treatment, The syndrome effectiveness of the scalp acupuncture group was higher than that of the other statistically significantly (P<0.05)Conclusion:The present trail indicates that both two methods have beneficial effect on migraine without aura. In addition, scalp acupuncture combined with western medicine was more helpful than only western medicine in long-term effects.
