Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of “Cluster Acupuncture on Scalp-point by Retaining Long Time”in the treatment of migraine,to explore the basis for selecting acupoints and techniques, compare the therapeutic effects of the "Cluster Acupuncture on Scalp-point by Retaining Long Time" with conventional acupuncture methods,to further improve the efficacy and patient quality of life, and to explore the theoretical basis of the "Cluster Acupuncture on Scalp-point by Retaining Long Time".Methods: A total of 88 migraine patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected as the study subjects and were randomly divided into two groups,44 cases in the observation group and 44 cases in the control group. The patients in the observation group were treated with "Cluster Acupuncture on Scalp-point by Retaining Long Time" method, and the patients in the control group were treated with conventional acupuncture, patients of the two groups were treated for 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy of the two groups before and after treatment was observed,as well as the changes in the visual analog score(VAS),migraine-specific quality of life questionnaire(MSQ),and plasma 5-HT concentration were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Their recurrence was observed 3 months after the conclusion of treatment.Results:1.Significantly lower VAS scores of patients in both groups decreased significantly after treatment compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and the observation group was better than the control group(P<0.05);The VAS scores of patients in both groups decreased at the 3-month follow-up after treatment compared with those before treatment(P<0.01),and the observation group was better than the control group(P<0.05).Proponents of "Cluster Acupuncture on Scalp-point by Retaining Long Time" assert that it is more effective than traditional acupuncture in diminishing the anxiety of patients.2.The MSQ scores of both groups saw a marked rise after treatment compared to before(P<0.01),with the observation group outperforming the control group(P<0.05).At the 3-month follow-up,the MSQ scores of both groups were still higher than before treatment(P < 0.01),with the observation group outperforming the control group(P <0.05).Proponents of "Cranial Plexus Long-stay Acupuncture" contend that it is superior to traditional acupuncture in relieving migraine sufferers.3.The comparison of plasma 5-HT concentration between the two groups before and after treatment revealed a significant increase(P<0.01)with the observation group outperforming the control group in terms of concentration(P<0.05).This implies that "Cranial Plexus Long-stay Acupuncture" is superior to traditional acupuncture in terms of enhancing the quality of life of patients.4.4.The rank sum test(P<0.05)revealed a significant difference in the curative effect between the two groups, with "Cranial Plexus Long-stay Acupuncture" having a total effective rate of 92.85%(39/42)and "conventional acupuncture" 78.05%(32/41)-the former being superior.5.The scores of the "Cluster Acupuncture on Scalp-point by Retaining Long Time" treatment group, after treatment and follow-up,were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05);this was evidenced by their recurrence 3 months after the treatment had concluded, suggesting that the treatment is durable and stable, reducing the recurrence rate.Conclusions:1.Both "Cluster Acupuncture on Scalp-point by Retaining Long Time" and conventional acupuncture methods were effective in treating migraine. The clinical effect of "Cranial Plexus Long-stay Acupuncture" is better than that of conventional acupuncture.2.The efficacy of the "Cluster Acupuncture on Scalp-point by Retaining Long Time" is superior to conventional acupuncture methods, which have clinical application value, and it has a clear impact on migraine treatment, diminishing the intensity of pain and enhancing the quality of life for patients.
