Research On The Routine And Flexible Thinking Of Syndrome Differentiation In Treating Mind Diseases And Syndromes Recorded In Shang Han Lun

With social environment became more and more complicate, with the life stress increased, the incidence of mental disorder increased. So the diagnosis and treatment of such kind of diseases had been paid more attention. Researches on the syndrome differentiation of such kind of diseases by the clinical doctors became more and more. The descriptions of mental disorders in Shang Han Lun were very detailed, and the effects of herbs and formulas mentioned in the book were very good. Through reviewing the syndrome differentiation and treatment,ancient and modern researches on the mental disorders recorded in the book Shang Han Lun, these disorders were discussed from the standpoint of thinking. The routine and flexible thinking used in the syndrome differentiation of mental disorders were demonstrated through studying some mental disorders commonly seen in clinic, such as dysphoria, delirium, manic psychosis and insomnia.In this research, typical cases were offered for each disease and syndrome. The syndrome differentiations were made from the standpoint of flexible thinking. The important roles of the routine and flexible syndrome differentiation thinking were elaborated for the readers through the cases. So when we did research on the treating of mental disorders of Zhang Zhongjing, the specific experience of herbs and formulas should be studied, the spirit of syndrome differentiation should also be learned.We must break with the traditional viewpoint that Each formula corresponds to each syndrome. It would be a caution on some doctors in the TCM field who using Suan Zao Ren treating all kinds of insomnia, using Long Gu which is heavy treating manic psychosis.The important role of the routine and flexible syndrome differentiation thinking in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders were demonstrated in this research. The significance of the routine and flexible syndrome differentiation thinking in studying Shang Han Lun were stated. The routine and flexible conceptions in the Shang Han Lun were hoped to be understood deeply en bloc.
