Academic Thinking On Annotation Of Shang Han Lun By Cheng Wuji

Purpose: According to the traditional research ideas and methods of philology,the related materials of Annotation of Shang Han Lun was collected,sorted,analogized,proved and identified suspect.In this work,it was discussed the introduction,quotation,comparison among different versions,comments of Annotation of Shang Han Lun,as well as the academic thinking and achievements of this work,in order to make up the blank of system analysis on the work of Annotation of Shang Han Lun to a certain extent,and uncover more information for the study of this work.Methods: In this work,we carefully read and studied the original of Annotation of Shang Han Lun.We searched,collected and analyzed the ancient and modern literatures on this work,and focused on the development from the original,as well as the theory innovation by later generations of doctors.Then the academic thinking and achievements were summarized,collected and analyzed by using transverse research,longitudinal research and the combination of transverse and longitudinal research.In the transverse research,we discussed the academic thinking and achievements of this work.In longitudinal research,it was collected and summarized the historical development and evolution,and compared the differences of different versions of Annotation of Shang Han Lun through the ages.Results:1 Cheng Wuji’s ancestral home in Liaoshe,Shandong Province,lived in the Song and Jin Dynasties.Annotation of Shang Han Lun is written in about 1144 AD by Cheng Wuji.The main handing down and edition of this work are version Wang,version Zhao and version Wu Mianxue.2.In this work of Annotation of Shang Han Lun,it explicitly cited 391 ancient works and documents,including Plain Questions,Miraculous Pivot,Nan Jing,Thousand-Golden-Prescriptions.There are about 113 errors including the termdifferences from them in these ancient works and documents,and the bibliography errors of these ancient works.Most of the errors are in individual words and phrases,and do not affect the understanding of the meaning of the work.There are relatively few word errors in the Annotation of Shang Han Lun of version Wu Mianxue.3.The comment part of Annotation of Shang Han Lun attracted some disputes from later generations of doctors,however,many doctors followed the comment.4.The academic achievements of Annotation of Shang Han Lun are mainly listed below.(1)It is the first time to comprehensively comment Shang Han Lun,creating a historical precedent.(2)This work values the analysis method to interpret the classics using the classics,and reasonably cites the medical literatures.(3)It cited the theory of the Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic detailedly and exactly,reflecting the academic origin.(4)This work inherits and develops the theory of Shang Han Lun,and the academic views enlightens the later generations of doctors.(5)The annotations on etiology and pathogenesis are rigorous and correct.It clarifies the dialectical spirit of Zhang Zhongjing.(6)The annotations and interpretation on pulse condition are detailed,and it is paid more attention on the four diagnostic methods,Wang,Wen,Wen.Qie,together in diagnosis and treatment.(7)It is comprehensively interpretated the therapies using acupuncture and Chinese medicine.And it emphasized the order of "exterior and interior" in the treatment.(8)The annotations are permeated throughout by the theory of Yin-Yang and Wu-Xing,which is flexibly interpreted by philosophical thoughts.(9)This work suggests to scrutinize the pathogenic factor and treatment following the appropriate way,and indicate the careful examination of the disease by the doctors.(10)This work is faithful to the original opinion from Shang Han Lun by explaining signification and transcription according to specific contexts.(11)The combination of interpretation and collation lays the foundation for doctors to study the works.(12)It preserved the style and features of a large number of ancient literatures,presenting the high literature values.(13)The annotations are the pivot of past and future for the medical works,have a far-reaching impact,and promote the academic development of Shang Han Lun.Conclusion: Annotation of Shang Han Lun by Cheng Wuji is highly valuable inacademic,which has greatly promoted the wide spread of Shang Han Lun.This work has a crucial role in boosting the formation and development of academic schools of Shang-Han.
