A Study On Family Treatment In Tang Dynasty

Medical science and people's life are interwoven. Family treatment is a term to describe the medical science means and medical science knowledge used by one whose family member(s) is patient. This thesis includes three chapters. The first chapter discusses the different levels of folks'understanding of the family medicine. The scholars and bureaucrats, who are well-educated, relative understood the disease in scientific way. So their self-treatment is relative effective. In the case of common people, due to their less of medical education, in most cases no education-background. Family located in remote area. Their medical knowledge almost equals to zero. The only option left for them is to quarantine their sick family members in reluctance. Second chapter analysis several medical means carried out in the family, such as the application of medicine, quarantining patient and expelling the cute daemon spirit. Finally, this thesis gives a conclusion that since the development of the Tang family medical was in the constraints of Buddhism, Taoism and folk magic, and then the Tang family medical has a lot of deficiencies.
